Full Description
FOUR SOCKETED AXES IN LINCOLN MUSEUM WERE FOUND IN CHURCH PIECE FIELD IN 1890. A FIFTH (76.30) IS PROBABLY FROM THE SAME GROUP. IT IS NOT KNOWN IF A SOCKETED AXE NOW PRIVATELY OWNED, ALSO CAME FROM HERE. {1}{2}{3}{4}
A FURTHER THREE LOOPED AND SOCKETED AXES WERE SEEN BY J B WHITWELL AT FISKERTON. THEY ARE LIKELY TO HAVE COME FROM THE FISKERTON HOARD WHICH WAS DISPERSED WHEN FOUND. {5}
