Full Description

52203 Two Saxon pottery sherds were found in this field during the construction of the Welton-Lincoln trunk main. These may reflect spread of occupation material from dwellings associated with the Anglo-Saxon cemetery to the east. They were a possible eighth or ninth century sherd of Maxey ware, and a ninth to eleventh sherd of Lincoln kiln ware. {1}
