Full Description

Site of an Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery, partly excavated in 1971. 11 burials were recorded, with finds including annular brooches, amber beads, iron knives and two shield bosses. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} Correspondence from the time of the excavation indicates that further skeletons were reported during works for a gas pipeline in the north-west area of the site. It was thought that these may well be from part of the cemetery. {6}
