Full Description

Tramway for the Claxby Ironstone Mine, which was operational between 1868 and 1885. The route of the tramway is depicted on the 1st edition 6 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map, leading west from the mines, down the slope of the hill towards the road to Holton le Moor Railway Station. The tramway has been dismantled but the route is still visible as an earthwork. {1}{2}
