Full Description

PRN 51475 23 INHUMATIONS EXCAVATED FROM A PIPELINE LAID IN 1990. GRAVE GOODS (CRUCIFORM AND ANNULAR BROOCHES, BEADS, SPEARHEADS) SUGGEST A C6-C7 DATE. {1} 20 GRAVES WERE UNCOVERED DURING WORK FOR THE PETROFINA PIPELINE, INCLUDING ADULTS, ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN. FROM THE POSITION OF GRAVES IN THIS CEMETERY IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT ITS FULL EXTENT HAS NOT BEEN EXAMINED. MORE BURIALS ALMOST CERTAINLY EXIST BOTH TO THE EAST AND WEST FOR GRAVES CONTINUE UP TO THESE LIMITS OF THE EXCAVATION. FURTHER DETAILS OF THE SITE ARE AVAILABLE IN THE RELEVENT PETROFINA REPORT. {2}{3}
