A LOW CIRCULAR MOUND WHICH WAS BELIEVED TO BE THE REMAINS OF A ROUND BARROW (UNTIL IDENTIFIED BY ETHEL RUDKIN AS AN EARLY SAXON DOMESTIC SITE), HAD PRODUCED SURFACE FINDS OF MEDIEVAL POTTERY, TOGETHER WITH A SILVER CROSS PENNY OF EDWARD II AND A SERIES OF SMALL BRASS STRAP-ENDS ETC OF MEDIEVAL PATTERN, COLLECTED BY ETHEL RUDKIN. {1}{2}~
