Full Description

St Luke's Church was rebuilt in 1854 by George Place of Nottingham (his south aisle is the remains of the original nave) and enlarged in 1926 by H.G. Gamble of Lincoln. The early part is of ironstone and is small, with lancet and geometrical windows, whilst the new part is unfinished. The south doorway is late Saxon or early Norman (PRN 50895) and is plain, with chamfered imposts and a tympanum. Inside the door, the stoup is a 13th century octagonal capital. The font is of 1926, incorporating cable-moulding contemporary with the south door. There are painted stencil decoration and texts on the walls of the south chapel. {1} For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
