Full Description
A Neolithic stone axe was found in 1968, in this location to the north of Otby Top Farm. The axe was recovered from an area that had a concentration of flint, with a similar concentration of sandstone lumps noted a short distance to the north. {1}
A number of redeposited Neolithic Grimston Ware pottery sherds were recovered in 1969, during partial excavation of one of the Bronze Age barrows in the Otby Top Barrow Cemetery (see PRN 50443). The sherds might suggest that the barrow was located on the site of earlier activity in this area. {2}
