Full Description

THE OPEN FIELDS OF NETTLETON WERE ENCLOSED IN 1791-5 BUT THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE SPREAD OF FARMSTEADS ON TO THE FORMER OPEN FIELDS. BY 1824 A FARMSTEAD IS SHOWN ON THIS SITE AND BUILDINGS WERE STILL DEPICTED IN 1856. NOW ONLY EARTHWORKS SURVIVE, INDICATING THE SITE OF A FARMHOUSE, YARD AND OUT-BUILDINGS. {1}{2}{3}, HTM 130M
