Full Description

Unnamed farmstead, Scotter. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached with the long axis facing on to the yard. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {1} Traces of several of the former farm buildings were noted in April 2001, during a site visit to inform proposed re-development in this area. The farm was known as Soulby Farm, although the exact date of its establishment was not known. The former buildings could be discerned as scars within the surrounding walling, along with more substantial fragments of demolished structures. {2}{3}
