Full Description

The remains of several ditches were revealed in 1957 by ploughing in this area at Grange Wold Farm. A large hoard of Roman coins had a few years earlier been found in this same location (see MLI50020). Two trial trenches excavated in this area yielded a fair amount of 2nd century Romano-British pottery from the features, and it was thought that the ditches had probably delineated former Roman fields. {1}{2}{3}
