Full Description
DURING A WATCHING BRIEF ON THE ROUTE OF A PIPELINE A ROMAN SITE WAS IDENTIFIED. A NUMBER OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL FEATURES WERE FOUND INCLUDING SOME DITCHES AND A POSSIBLE TRACKWAY LEADING DOWN TO A STREAM. THERE WERE ALSO THREE POSTHOLES. THE POTTERY RECOVERED INCLUDED A SIZABLE QUANTITY OF ROMAN SOME DATING TO THE LATE FIRST AND EARLY SECOND CENTURY. THE SITE IS PROBABLY A ROMAN DOMESTIC SITE, PERHAPS A FARMSTEAD. {1}{2}
