Full Description

Large, concrete structure used to house a Second World War coast artillery searchlight. Formed part of the Gibraltar Point Coastal Defence Battery (see MLI43285), and used to inspect suspect merchant ships approaching the Lincolnshire coast. Roughly square shaped with a hexagonal southern front. The structure was converted shortly after the war to be used as an observation post for the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, with the openings fitted with modern windows. {1}{2}{3}{4}
