An area of woodland (all 3 hectares of which classified as semi-natural) included in the Inventory of Ancient Woodland. The woodland historically covered a larger area, with the western 5 hectares of the wood being felled and cleared for agriculture at some point after 1956. The remaining woodland may contain standing earthworks and buried remains related to its historic management and utilisation, such as wood banks, former saw pits, coppice stools, charcoal hearths, etc. {1}{2}{3}
