Full Description

PRN 42782 EARLY-MID SAXON SETTLEMENT AT TF 3752 6371. PROBABLY THREE OR MORE CONCENTRATIONS OF POTTERY WITHIN A SOILMARK. SAXON SHERDS ARE MAINLY EARLY WITH SOME UNDIENTIFIED, THREE UNDATED SHERDS, LAVA QUERN, BONE AND SLAG. {1} DURING A RAPID FIELDWALKING SURVEY OVER THIS FIELD ON THE PROPOSED ROUTE OF THE EAST KEAL BYPASS, A SLIGHT SCATTER OF SAXON POTTERY WAS RECOVERED. OTHER FINDS INCLUDED A SINGLE PIECE OF BURNT AMBER AND A RECTANGULAR PIECE OF POLISHED BONE. {2}
