Full Description

ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH IS A VICTORIAN REPLACEMENT FOR A POSSIBLE MEDIEVAL CHURCH ON THE SAME SITE. {1} A FONT IN THE PRESENT CHURCH IS PERPENDICULAR AND DATES TO THE 15TH CENTURY. IT IS NOW IN LINCOLN MUSEUM (SEE PARISH FILE). The church is now redundant, and used as a private residence. During a watching brief for a new building four possible graves were identified, although no attempt was made to reveal the human remains. In addition a possible charnel pit was revealed which contained a sherd of Torksey pottery, although this does not securely date the pit. {2}{3}
