Full Description

The Church of St Leonard retains Transitional to Perpendicular features but was much restored in 1871. The Norman doorway is said to have come from the ruined church of Calceby, but was here by 1835. {1}{2}{3} Stained glass in this church dates to the late 15th to 17th centuries, and includes glass of German, Netherlandish and French origin. {4} A parish church with architectural features surviving from the 12th century, about 1384 and the 15th century. It underwent restoration in 1871 to 1872 by James Fowler. It was constructed of greenstone ashlar with limestone ashlar dressings and has plain tiled and lead roofs.
