Full Description

In 1813 a 'deep yellow or gold' flint axe was taken from a ditch in Friskney Fen. At a later date two other celts were found. {1}{2}{3}{4} Davey suggests that one or more of these may have been bronze axeheads. {5} A. White notes the Davey entry is a confusion arising from Sir J. Banks's article in 'Archaeologia' which mentions the discovery of a further palstave. Only two objects were found. {6}
