Full Description
Sherds of Roman pottery were identified in 1975, during the digging of a telephone cable trench to the north of the main road in Burgh le Marsh. The assemblage included sherds of samian ware and 2nd to 4th century greywares. The sherds were recovered from a depth of approximately 2.5m, from what was thought to be the fill of a possible Roman ditch. {1}{2}
