The remains of a brick tower mill built in 1841 by Saunderson of Louth.{1}
It was built in 1841 and worked by wind until 1952, then by engine for a few more years. In the 1980s a replica cap of fibre glass was added. The tower still stands but is completely stripped of ironwork amd the curb has also been removed. {2}
A three storey, tapering tower mill constructed in 1841 by Saunderson’s of Louth. The ogee cap is a modern replacement but has brick corbelling beneath it. Inside the first and second floor timbers and central timber shaft remain intact, but no other machinery survives. This windmill is a rare survival of an early 19th century tower mill, and retains some evidence of the corn-milling process within a comparatively little-altered structure. Several brick outbuildings, dating to the 1930s or later and associated with the mill were recorded and photographed prior to conversion into B&B accommodation. The buildings were functional storage sheds with modern alterations and extensions. {4}
