Full Description
A saltern site near Tetney Lock was revealed in 1959 during bulldozing activities. Fragments of briquetage were recovered from the clay lined salt pans. Several sherds of medieval salt-glazed pottery were found near to the saltern site, and were thought to date the saltmaking activity here. [see parish file for correspondance and photographs]. {1}{2}
