Full Description
A disused windmill located in Sibsey village to the north. The tower mill has gear, sails and a fan-tail. {1}{2}
This tower mill was standing by 1823 and was at some stage raised by another storey. It ceased work in 1921 and in 1924 the sails and fantail were taken off. The cap had gone by 1934 and in this form the tower remains as a store with no machinery remaining. There were two pairs of stones and at one time it was driven by "Bywater's roller reefing sails" which used longitudinal rollers clothing the whole lenghth of the sail in one go.{3}
A tower windmill built in the mid 19th century and raised in the late 19th century. It was constructed of red brick with faded colourwash brick to the base and some black brick. The concrete top has chain railings extending the circumference.
