Full Description

The lost village of Little Stourton 'the town on the street', in Great Stourton, is represented by Stourton Hall. There was a chantry chapel here in the 12th and 13th centuries. One family remained in 1563. Faint traces of earthworks are visible on air photographs. The only earthworks evident in the indicated area are the result of quarrying and field drainage. {1}{2}{3}{4} The deserted village of Little Sturton has been located through research and field survey by Paul Everson and David Stocker on the east side of the parish by Little Sturton Old Hall. {5}
