Full Description
FIVE TRIAL PITS WERE EXCAVATED WEST OF HEYDOUR LODGE FARM. TRIAL PIT 1 CONTAINED A FAIRLY DEEP IRREGULARLY CUT CONTAINING AN IRON NAIL. TRIAL PIT 3 CONTAINED PART OF A POSSIBLY CIRCULAR SHAPED CUT WHICH SEEMED TO CONTINUE INTO BOTH THE EAST AND NORTH SECTIONS. IT WAS FAIRLY DEEP, WITH A FLAT BASE AND STEEP SIDES TO THE SOUTH AND WEST. TRIAL PIT 4 CONTAINED 11 ROUGHLY CIRCULAR POSTHOLE CUTS ARRANGED AT RANDOM. THE IRON NAIL WAS THE ONLY FIND. {1}
