Full Description

PRN 34885 DURING A WATCHING BRIEF AT SOUTH STREET, TWO DITCHES AND ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY WERE RECORDED, SIGNIFYING OCCUPATION OF INDETERMINATE DATE. {1}{2} Archaeological evaluation (trial trenching) on land at South Fields, South Road, Bourne. Three evaluation trenches were machine-excavated with lengths varying between 7.5m to 12.5m. The evaluations identified a group of pits, ditches and a series of post holes (possibly a fence line) and an associated gully. The features produced few finds, but are likely to be from the Roman period {1} {2}
