DURING EXCAVATION OF THE EARTHWORKS NEAR CHAPEL STREET POTTERY WAS RECOVERED AND IDENTIFIED AS EARLY AND LATE ANGLO-SAXON. ONLY A VERY SMALL QUANTITY WAS RECOVERED, AND MAY BE RESIDUAL. {1}
