Full Description

IN 1965 W G SIMPSON REPORTED A RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURE AT TF107096, WITH A LARGE PIT WHICH CONTAINED ORGANIC MATERIAL AND SOME IRON AGE AND EARLY ROMAN POTTERY. {1} IN 1956 FENNELL RECORDED THAT GRAVEL DIGGING AT TF109095 HAD PRODUCED C3- ROMANO-BRITISH POTTERY. A PEWTER PLATE, SHOE, TROWEL (FROM A ROMANO- BRITISH PIT) AND A COIN OF CLAUDIUS GOTHICUS (RIC265) WERE ALSO FOUND. {2} THE FINDS RECORDED BY FENNELL SEEM TO BE A DUPLICATION OF THOSE FOUND FURTHER NORTH (PRN 33482).
