Full Description

Iron Age saltern site, found during field walking, in Morton. The site was investigated by the Fenland Project in the 1990s. Briquetage was found on the south flank of low roddon with a clayey surface. Soilmarks for the site extend over the roddon. A small amount of burnt stone was also found, and pottery was identified as Iron Age. The site is adjacent to an area of extensive silting. {1}{2}
