Full Description
The old church at Hungerton stood near the hall, but went into decay several centuries ago. Portions of foundations were found in 1855, in a large mound where coffins had occasionally been dug up. {1}{2}
Remains of the church were discovered in 1810. Two coffins were found outside the south wall of the chancel and 2 kets and a buckle were found at the same time and are now in Grantham Museum. {3}{4}
The church is recorded in the Domesday Book as a joint rectory with Wyville. {5}
