Full Description

The Manor House became seat of the Armyne family in 1362. It was an Elizabethan manor house, but a chimney is all that remains of the house that was demolished in 1947. There are associated fishponds (see PRN33744). The barn had two storeys, but now is single storey [this may not be the listed barn, see below]. {1}{2}{3} The moat that was surveyed and published on the 1958 OS map at TF02022801, is now infilled and the whole area is under crop. {2}{3} The building was demolished in the 1960s; the chimney survives and there is a photograph. {4} The ruin of the chimney still stands (2011) and there is a sales particular from about 1913, which details the manor house and estate, at the Lincolnshire Archives and Grantham Library. {5} The 17th century barn nearby is a listed building (see PRN39146). {6}
