Full Description
A lost hamlet lying between Lavington (now Lenton) & Hanby is mentioned in DB (Parva Lavintune). An award of 17.5.1846 tithe rentcharge shows that the territory of Little Lavington lay to the E of the Lavington-Sapperton Rd & with the exception of 1 close, on the S side of the Lavington-Folkingham Rd, that it came within 0.25 miles of Lavington Church on the S & to within less than half a mile of Hanby Grange on the N. Described in the award as the hamlet of Lavington, otherwise Lenton. No knowledge of village position. {1}{2} The site above is almost certainly Lenton Grange (surrounded by Grange field names).{3}
