Full Description

This was a double moat enclosing large farmhouse or grange of c1500, Cragg and Grimes inspected site for MOW 5.1944. The house was on the E part & farm on W part of enclosure. Both Briant and Greenwood show the site of a double moated grange here.Moat shown on OS 1824. This seems to indicate that the detail on the 1904 OS is the eastern part of the enclosure.{1}{2}{3}{4} Moat has been filled in . {1}
