VILLAGE MENTIONED IN 1086. NINE FAMILIES IN 1563. HALL WAS TAKEN DOWN 'MANY YEARS AGO'.{4} THERE WAS A SMALL CHAPEL. TRACES OF EARTHWORKS ON AP's. PART OF MOAT SURVIVES AND ADJACENT MINOR EARTHWORKS INDICATE OLD PONDS AND GARDEN LANDSCAPING.{1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}
