Full Description

A medieval cross lies in the churchyard of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. The cross is of ashlar and takes the form of a facetted tapering shaft set on a square base block with 2 steps. The cross is thought to be of probable 14th century date and has a total height of 7 feet 3 inches. The shaft is supported by wrought iron cramps. {1}{2} The cross has also been designated as a scheduled ancient monument, and there is a full description in the revised scheduling document 22646. {3}
