Full Description

The settlement of Holywell affords the only Lincolnshire example of a placename definitely associated with religious water lore. Near the site of the old church are two springs, Holy Well and St Winifred's (see MLI33611 for the unlocated St Winifred's Well). The spring named Holy Well has an old stone lining and a modern concrete superstructure. There is a local tradition of religious association. {1}{2}{3}
