Full Description
Birthorpe - objects found: cattle bells, clay pipes & flint - see field notebook). No exact spot for these earlier finds. Subsequent fieldwalking led to more accurate location of sites which are all in one field between 'Piper Holt' (road to Folkingham from Billingborough) & road from Billingborough to Birthorpe. Finds of flint, RB, Saxon, Mid-Saxon, Saxo-Norman, Med. & Post-Med. pottery. {1} Small quantity R.B. pottery - grey ware at TF106341. Found c. 1977 {2}
