Full Description

A Bronze Age looped palstave or axehead found in Sempringham at TF12973295. The loop is broken and the weapon is much corroded and it was found near the 'old Roman encampment' at Sempringham in April 1880. This 'encampment' is the moated site (HER no.30038). It is in the Museum of the Spalding Gentlemans' Society. {1}{2}{3}{4} This find is still held by the Gentlemen's Society.{1}
