Full Description

This feature is a mill-mound, with an indentation in the top. {1} The mill mound was destroyed in the early 1980s. It was investigated during its destruction by the archaeological tutor from Newark Technical College. The mound was about 30 feet in diameter, with a flat top. 'T-shape' timbers were found on the top, and a stone path lay outside the mound there was a depression around the mound. This information came from the Hough Local History Society newsletter. {2} The mound was recorded from aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme. {3}
