Full Description

Four steps, the lowest about 6 feet square, represent the remains of the medieval village cross, at Westborough. The lowest step is 3m square, and on the top is a modern dressed stone in place of the socket stone. {1} By the side of road at the north end of the green at SK85144484 is the socket stone of a cross. Obviously not in situ, it may have once formed part of the Westborough village cross. {2} There is a full description in the revised scheduling document 22654 {3}
