Full Description

THERE IS EVIDENCE FOR THE POST MEDIEVAL SETTLEMENT OF PEAKHILL. AT TF 2640 1586 A SCATTER OF POT, BONE AND SPARSE RUBBLE WITHIN DARK SOIL STAIN ON SILT MOUND ABUTTING BARRIER BANK. LATE AND POST MEDIEVAL MATERIAL CONTINUES INTO BELLESMERE FARM. {1}, AREA 0.07H, HTM 2.5M During excavations in advance of the A1073 improvement scheme a series of east west aligned ditches were recorded. Medieval and post medieval pottery and ceramic building material was recovered from the ditches. {2}{3}
