Full Description
At TF17983320 is a possible Roman settlement. A cluster of small ditched enclosures, under plough, show as cropmarks on aerial photographs. {1}{2}
The area is now partly ploughed and rough pasture. Slight surface irregularities are evident but no enclosures could be traced. No finds were made at the time of investigation and the farmer knows of no earlier finds. There is, however, a recent find of a concentration of 3rd century potsherds, immediately north in the area centred on TF18003335.{1}{3}
There are scatters of pottery from over most of the site. {4}{5}{6}
