Full Description

Part of probable Roman settlement. The features contained much charred material and plentiful pottery, including colour-coated ware. {1} There was a scatter of pottery and sparse briquetage, quern fragments, bone and shell on a high roddon. There is here an area of soilmarks (see 20099). {2} Disturbance by the farmer in 1963 produced evidence of a possible hut site in the silt, and Roman pottery was found. {4}
