Full Description

High base, plinth and shaft of the cross, which stands six feet from the porch on the south side. It is a cross with a brick base, and has been restored as a war memorial. It is possibly not in situ. {1}{2}{3}{6} A 15th century cross which was restored in about 1918. It was constructed of limestone ashlar with some red brick patching. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {4} Gedney Hill war memorial stands in Holy Trinity churchyard, to the south side of the church. It honours the First World War fallen of Gedney Hill. The memorial consists of an octagonal column carrying a calvary and sitting on top of a plinth of rough-hewn stone. The base of the memorial is brick. The cross was first erected in the fifteenth century but was restored by the War Memorial Committee in 1921 through the levelling of the octagonal column and the fixing of a new calvary. {5}
