Full Description

Roman pottery, including samian and buff ware, was found during ploughing in 1721, in a field called Woods, near Ravensbank, three miles south of Moulton Church, and not far from Moulton Hall. Ravensbank extends from Cowbit, TF2518, to Tydd St Giles, TF4116, and in the area about 'three miles south of Moulton Church', is now known as Oxcroft Bank. Moulton Hall is not located at this site. The site of the medieval hall of the Moulton family is at TF3125 2129. There was no local knowledge found of a field with the name 'Woods'. {1}{2}{3}{4}
