ENGINEERED DROVE, NOT GRAVELLED, RUNNING STRAIGHT EAST, THEN STRAIGHT SOUTH EAST TO JOIN THE MAIN BASTON-SPALDING GRAVEL ROAD BY PEPPER HILL FARM SOUTH; LINKED WITH THE RB DITCH SYSTEM NETWORK TO THE NORTH AND FORMING THE FENWARD LIMIT OF THE SETTLED AREA, COINCIDES ROUGHLY WITH THE TRANSITION FROM ALLUVIUM TO FEN PEAT'S. {2} At TF178301982-TF192001890 - straight line droves probably Roman, possibly associated with gravelled road. Marking the SW fenward limit of settled area. On AP's as double ditches of crop and soilmarks. No visible trace of drove across the lands of decoy farm, visited in 1952. Remainder not visited.{1}{2}{3} Replies by local farm workers to enquiries as to whether anything had shown through in ploughing over the past years were negative. Nothing of archaeological interest was seen on perambulation, most of the indicated extent is under high crop.{1}
