Full Description

Group of small Roman fields, show as cropmarks on APs. Plotted 1950-51. Site not visited. It appears to be one a series of semi- continuous Romano-British settlement sites strung along an extinct meandering watercourse. {1}{3}{4}{5} Area under crop, surface disturbances. Farmer knows of no archaeological finds.{1} This is an area of extensive Romano-British settlement, field system, and industrial activity remains. For finds, see 22028, 22027, 23157, and 22034. {3}
