THE SKIRBECK QUARTER OIL MILLS WERE BUILT BY JOHN CABOURNE AS SUCCESSOR TO BRITANNIA OIL MILLS. IT WAS DEMOLISHED IN 1985. IT WAS A FIVE STOREY BRICK BUILDING WITH A SLATE ROOF. IT ALSO HAD RAILWAY SIDINGS ON EACH SIDE. IT IS NEXT TO THE BLACK SLUICE WHERE SOUTH FORTY FOOT DRAIN ENTERS THE RIVER WITHAM. IT BECAME A PEA FACTORY IN THE 1960'S. {1}
