Full Description

A former level crossing keepers cottage at Saundergate Lane. The crossing was on part of the Lincolnshire Loop line, which was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in October 1848. The building was single storey, constructed of yellow brick and featured a slate roof. The building was extended and altered several times. A red brick toilet and red brick wash house were added in the garden at some point after 1905. A corrugated iron workshop was to the east of the wash house and there was a timber shed used to store the gate lamps. The building was extant in 1966, but was demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991. {1}{2}
