Full Description
A former level crossing keepers cottage at Church Lane. The crossing was on part of the Lincolnshire Loop line, which was constructed by the Great Northern Railway in October 1848. The building was single-storey, constructed of yellow brick and featured a slate roof. A sitting room projected from the south-east corner, and there were ornamental gable ends. A toilet and coal shed was attached to the northern elevation, and a separate yellow brick wash house was to the north-west. The building was extant in 1966, but was demolished at some point before the Boston to Algarkirk Diversion road was constructed in 1991. {1}
