Full Description

PRN 13338 A survey of Orchard Field recorded earthwork features consistent with the remains of a medieval manorial moat. From the terminal of the north ditch, the remains of the moat run west, into the garden of the cottage. Here it disappears into the dyke at the bottom of orchard field, after being crossed by the cause way, which was obviously the southern access to the manor interior, the moat enters the churchyard and vanishes. {1}
